LGBTQ Places Category: Gayborhoods
This is the fastest growing gay neighborhood from the Fine Arts Center to Hotel San Jorge.
Locals know it as ‘Stop 22’ to ‘Stop 25’ and we like to call it San Juan’s ‘Rainbow Village’ due to the hundreds of ‘rainbow eucalyptus trees’ that line this section of Ponce de Leon Avenue.Check out the Museum of Art, Ciudadela Condo Complex, Food Truck Court and lots of galleries, dance schools, hip restaurants and shops.
If you’re early for the bars – stop by the new Late 23 Food Truck Court just across from the Ciudadela Condo Complex for 15 trucks with everything from Asian to Puerto Rican Street Food. There is entertainment every night and a very young, hipster vibe. Closed Mondays.
Note: ‘Stops’ or ‘Paradas’ are how locals estimate location along Ponce de Leon Avenue in the Arts District. This is a remnant from the old trolley system which hasn’t run since the 1940’s. There are no signs with the numbers (even at the bus stops) but all locals and taxi drivers will understand the general location from the ‘stop’ or ‘parada’ number.
